  Journal club resumes: next-generation weight-loss drugs and the brain's reward circuitry , iBRF balcony, 4:00 pm

  The monthly Neural Circuitry of Reward & Addiction journal club resumes Thursday, September 10 at 4:00 pm on the iBRF balcony. This month’s paper: “A brain reward circuit inhibited by next-generation weight-loss drugs in mice” by Godschall et al. (2026), Nature.

  PARC awarded NIDA P50 Center of Excellence grant

  The Polysubstance Addiction Research Center (PARC) at UC San Diego has been awarded a P50 Center of Excellence grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (award number P50DA066459, 2026–2031). The center will identify convergent and divergent multiscale mechanisms of addiction-like behaviors across alcohol, opioid, and cocaine use disorders, build a One-Individual Multiscale Atlas, and serve as a national resource through the Addiction Biobank and pilot funding program.
