Administrative Core
The Administrative Core is the hub of the Polysubstance Addiction Research Center. Alcohol and substance use disorders remain a leading public health burden, driven by complex interactions across neural circuits, transcriptional programs, gut–brain signaling, and behavior, and answering questions at that scale requires more than a collection of projects. The Administrative Core delivers the leadership, harmonization, and accountability that turn the center’s three research projects and four supporting cores into a cohesive, milestone-driven program and national resource.
Specific aims
- Provide scientific and administrative leadership: aligning projects through milestone-based planning, monthly Steering Committee reviews, and annual evaluations by an independent Scientific Advisory Board.
- Implement governance and compliance systems: ensuring transparency, reproducibility, and adherence to NIH Data Management and Sharing policies, including FAIR data deposition.
- Serve as a national resource: embedding training and dissemination into all center activities.
